I bought this as a Valentine's Day gift for a special someone who has been admiring it but was hesitating on buying it herself. Well, she loved it...

Surprisingly, it's not all form and no function. It is hand blown glass (you can tell by the ripples when you look closely) and is surprisingly light. When it's half full, it's easy to pour with one hand. I can see how some people with smaller hands might struggle to lift it with one had if it's full of water, but that's just what happens when you have that much water weight in a vessel. The handle doesn't heat up at all, thanks to the steam venting design. Also, the spout is wonderful to pour from! It pours very smoothly, is surprisingly easy to control, and doesn't drip at all once you stop pouring. Watching the water steam and boil is very satisfying... It contributes to a more meditative coffee/tea making process. Thumbs up for sure!

I realy love this kettle. As I expected by previous reviewers, it does take 2 hands for me to pour and the holding part does get hot. Regardless of that, I am very happy of this purchase.I can see the state of the water as it heats and there are no unusual flavours imparted into the water. It also is great for serving any beverage, hot or cold, and for decanting wine. It seems very well made. I think a lot of thought went into the making of this beautiful multi-purpose kettle.
