TAMP LIKE A BARISTA!

Compatible with the deep basket of the Robot, this tamper features a precision cast and machined 304 stainless steel base with a tapered edge to prevent the vacuum effect when removing the tamper. The handle is made from aluminum and black, food-grade, Polyoxymethylene (POM) and centres the tamper in the basket, thereby ensuring a level tamp. Its leaf pattern allows air in so as not to suck the grinds back up. Both the POM and aluminum are CNC-milled to precise specifications and the entire tamper is held together by a custom-made 304 stainless steel stud.

Lightly tamp the coffee in the Cafelat Robot basket to evenly level the coffee grinds. Excessive pressure is not required.

Great tamper for the Robot

Bought this based on the recommendation of the internet. I don't know if it's actually necessary if you do WDT (I don't have issues pressing down on the original tamper) but it's a good tamper regardless. It looks nice, you can use usual hand posture (unlike the original, which is possibly a compelling reason) which might be more comfortable and prevent uneven tamping.

I find it super easy to clean, which is nice. I don't mind that it isn't a calibrated tamper, my understanding that calibration doesn't actually matter as long as you push as hard as you can before hitting total resistance.

My one star off is mostly because I wish it was taller; my hands are forced to go into the portafilter chamber, which is uncomfortable and harder to trip (this is even more of a problem with the other tamper.)
