A bit of static makes a small mess. But happy with the product overall. Consistent, looks great with my setup

Best value for a flat burr grinder

After over 100days of usage, I'm very impressed by this Ode v2 grinder. Teaming up with the Hario v60 Switch brewer, medium roast produces a cup of clear, clean and flavorful coffee with decent body. The machine is solidly built and it's fast and quiet. It will be hard to find another product in this category at this price range especially when it's on sale.

The ode is pretty much the pinnacle of home grinders without spending thousands.

There is a lot to love about this grinder

My rating is actually 4.5 stars. It grinds very quickly and relatively quietly with the Gen 2 Brew Burrs installed. The grind size is quite consistent and the resulting coffee tastes very good. I haven't had it very long so I can't comment on durability. I have a few nitpicks. The fins inside the catch cup don't funnel the coffee out efficiently, so I turn it around and dump out the grinds from the side opposite the fins, which occasionally causes a mess. The notches on the dial are set at a count of 3, which seems odd. After ensuring that the burrs were aligned, which was pretty easy to do, I find that I am grinding between 3 - 3.6 for V60 and the Torch Mountain flat-bottomed brewer. This makes the brew guide on the hopper lid misguiding. It's a good start, but it all depends on beans, roast profile and preference.
