Turns the picopresso into a at home espresso machine

I was skeptical of getting the pressure gauge as I heard from a lot of reviewers that it had some leakage issues and didn’t work with some IMS basket (specifically the la pavoni 51mm, which happens to be the one I have). I also was making good enough espresso without it. I was suprise to discover with the gauge that I was actually brewing espresso at an insane pressure and running the risk of breaking my pump. The second shot I pulled with the gauge was the best espresso I have ever brewed. And better yet, it worked with my ims basket! (With a little tightening and pushing required. The gauge still has its flaws; it’s inconsistent so you can end up with a not so great espresso just by not tightening the basket hard enough or because your beans are a couple days older than last time you brew. And my pressure gauge did leak once! It’s wonky, as the picopresso can be sometimes, but in my opinion it is still a must have if you love the pico. If you come into your espresso brewing process with curiosity, and have fun dialing in and experimenting with different techniques and making adjustments. If you like me enjoy the suprise of a “perfect espresso” even more than the routine of an everyday coffee I can definitely recommend both of these products to you. And highly encourage you to buy from Eight Ounce or another local retailer as they are much more attentive than Wacaco and will be happy to assist you if you have any problems.
