Great Kettle

Bought this kettle in 2021 and it still works great, although the matte finish has chipped off a bit at the bottom - i use it mostly on my coil stove.

Good, but certainly not perfect

I love how this kettle looks, but I've had a number of design issues with it over the past 10 months I've been using it. The chipping on the bottom has been well-documented, and isn't really something that bothers me, but there are others aspect that do (namely, safety).

First of all, if you heat the kettle to 210-212 degrees (my preferred brewing temperature for light roast coffees), the water will sputter out of the spout at a very fast rate, pushing both the grounds and water out of the brewing device, and likely burning your hand; this seems to happen if the kettle isn't quite full enough, but if it's too full the water will then come out of the vents at the top, also possible burning you. Another issue I have is that on the handle where it connects to the kettle itself, there's about an inch of metal that heats up. You will absolutely touch this part by accident once or twice, burning yourself, so be very careful.

While minor issues, it's worth noting that the stove-top version of this kettle takes a surprisingly long time to boil, and that the temperature gauge steams up at around 210 degrees. The latter is not a big deal, but it does detract from the overall aesthetic and feeling of quality.

I do very much like the flow-rate of the kettle, and as mentioned, it's a nice looking piece of equipment. I just wish some of these clear design issues were considered, particularly given that this isn't a cheap kettle.

Pretty but..

Don’t look at the undersides after a few uses the bottom will get discoloured and scuffed. The paint chips easy if you drop the lid. If that doesn’t bother you then this is a great kettle for making coffee. It holds water, boils and pours.

Nice Spout!

The kettle has a great spout and is awesome for pour-overs. The thermometer is also a nice touch!

Love it!

It’s a lovely kettle- nice slow controlled pour. My only regret is that I just bought it, and now it’s on sale!
