FLAIR Pro 2 Quick Start Guide

First impressions.

I'll give this 4 stars to start off. Eight ounce coffee gets 5 for the outstanding service.

I'm not an expert by any means and as a chain smoker I don't have the most refined pallet. My bottom line is that this device looks great and has a lot of potential. It can pull a better shot than the local Starbucks or a Breville bambino but it's a bit finicky.

The first 2 shots wouldn't pull and the next 2 were pretty sour. 6 adjustments and attempts later and this thing can pull a pretty nice shot...even an excellent one for the price. At CAD $415 the trade-off is that it's pretty fiddly to get good result. Some might enjoy the fiddling and pre-heat experimenting but for me it loses a star only for that. OTOH the possibility of doing better than most coffee shops with a device that fits on your carry on is pretty awesome.

New to making espressos

Purchased the Pro 2 as someone who’s new to making espressos but lots of familiarity with pour overs. Honestly it’s just fun learning how to control your pressure, heat, time, etc, and so rewarding when you finally have it dialed in.

Simple and Effective

Picked up this machine as I wanted to be able to bring it with me. It’s simple and easy to put together and use, needs a good grinder and makes great espresso
